Exciting times!

I've had a great week and also slightly disasterous!

On a personal note my lovely husband took me to a concert last Wednesday (Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, we ended up on second row centre.  It was awesome!)  He then booked a Valentine's meal out at a lovely restaurant on Friday, booked babysitter friends who stayed overnight so that we could go to the South end of the island to a cosy hotel (which we had all to ourselves - literally, the housekeeper went a door down to sleep!) and had a lovely night.  On Saturday we started with a cooked breakfast, went for a steam and swim at the Clickimin Leisure Centre and lunch at our favourite cafe (The Havly Cafe in Lerwick - we are two of its five directors so of course it's our favourite!) and went home to a quiet house and three very happy boys.  Bliss!

After all that I had to be brought down to earth a little with my attempts at this week's workshop technique which I just could not get to work!!  I intended to do bleach stamping and the rock n roll techniques.  The second technique was great!  The bleach stamping was terrible.  Our bleach must be weak and useless (and I used two kinds) as it did not alter the cardstock at all, only wet it slightly!

I gave it up (on the advice of my husband!) and switched to showcasing a card design with a variety of Stampin' Up!'s lovely patterned papers.  I also showed them my new matchbooks of paper, which they loved (see previous post) Recipe underneath...

Recipes: Love Letter, Newsprint, Greenhouse Gala and Lap of Luxury papers, Artistic Etchings, Bliss and Fresh Cuts sets, Subtles and Neutrals buttons, brads and cardstock, Modern label, Heart small and Boho Blossoms punches, Silver brads, Basic Rhinestones, Notecards, Linen thread, silver cord, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant ink.

I also played around with the Elegant Soiree papers before the workshop, and the matching stamp set Always Elegant.  Add some Crumb Cake cardstock, Early Espresso ink and cardstock, Tiny Tags set, Jewellry tag punch, Scallop Trim border punch, Basic Rhinestones and linen thread.

This was a bleached demo that didn't work!  Bleached circles from Artistic Etchings then Shadow Stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink, on matching cardstock, wrapped with linen thread.  I added a Large Circle punch of Love Letters DSP (Designer Series Paper) overstamped with Early Espresso ink and added a Basic Rhinestone.  Very basic but different.

Slightly CASEd card from Shelli Gardner's blog using Crumb Cake cardstock, Early Espresso cardstock and ink, Very Vanilla cardstock, Circle punch, Subtles DSP, Punch Bunch set (FREE!), Curly Label punch and Elegant Soiree DSP.  Love the colours very much!

For the make and takes, I gave my attendees a little creative freedom and they chose their own colours from range of light colour backgrounds that I'd precut, and then copied my basic sketch.  They made some lovely cards, similar but slightly different, which I should have photographed before they left!

The butterflies were made using the rock n roll technique (to find out how come to my workshop on Thursday 24th Feb at 7pm here in Brae!)  And overlaid with Crystal Effects.

The Bliss set is absolutely free, but only for a few weeks! Hurry!

Some exciting new things I announced last night were the virtual clubs and Saturday classes I will be running shortly (tabs at the top to follow) so please have a read and contact me for more info or to book your slot!  Places are limited and they do fill up so please hurry!

I also wanted to show you the lovely card that my upline Amanda sent me as a well done for my new downline.  She also made me a gorgeous bracelet (will post photos tomorrow.)

I love the colour combinations! It's always great to see other people's ideas as it gets you out of your colour ruts!  I also use the Colour Coach for some advice!

Come back soon to see class details or email me on paperworks@hotmail.co.uk or phone 01806 522482.
